About

Lifelong Keyboard player and singer. Fairly recently took up guitar. Been writing music since I was a wee lad (No, I’m not Irish - I simply like the expression, so I’m stealing it). Many of my influences broke up before I was born. Which sucks when I want to go see live music. I guess that’s what tribute bands are for.

I do like modern bands too. If I’m going to tout my own strengths, I guess I’d say I can be influenced by anything. Not in a distracted sort of way. More like, let’s see if I can melt this into the pot and make the stew even tastier. Sometimes it works, sometimes I get bitter stew. But hey, I can always throw it out and start again.

So I’m a rock artist, but more in the classic sense, harkening back to when melody was king and arrangements could make or break a song. I strive for that standard. I’ll leave it up to others to determine how close I get to it.

Half Day from Midnight is a band. Yes, there’s only one person in it right now. That’s me. But like music itself, form is fluid. Let the band be a vehicle and the musicians the passengers. Some will ride for a while. Some will stay aboard for only one stop. Most importantly, let the trip be a whole lot of fun.
